Media Diversity Australia, in collaboration with the Australian Human Rights Commission has launched a new Race Reporting Handbook to assist newsrooms covering issues related to race or negatively racialised communities.
The “Listen Loudly, Act Strongly” report spoke to 120 participants comprising current and former ABC staff to hear their experiences of racism at work. The review found "racism exists within the ABC workplace" and "ABC staff are subjected to racism from external individuals and organisations in connection with their work".
Kathomi Gatwiri, Zoe Krupka and Samara James have published a paper titled ‘Mentors and sponsors: Making a difference for racially and culturally minoritised academics in Australian Universities.’ Read more here.
